Magic Numbers In The Mail Order Business

I once attended a seminar where I learned a string of small ideas that I managed to use once I already had my business going. However, the most important thing I learned from that seminar became the foundation by which I planned, started and built my business. I learned a principle by which every mail order business built upon. It is a principle that rules the very foundation of every direct-response marketing program. This principle is called “The Numbers Game”. Simply, this principle recommends that “you break down your financial objectives by numerical units that affect the performance of your business”.

Mail Order is a numbers game. If you want to make $10,000 in just one month, you have a number ofoptions: You can market 10,000 units of a $1 item, or 1,000 units of a $10 item, or 100 units of a $100 item, or 10 units of a $1000 item. Once you’ve decided which factor to use, simply divide the number of units by 22 days, the number of workdays per month. This will give you a clear outline of how you can achieve your goals, based on the amount of money you want to earn.

Because I didn’t first believe that I can make $10,000 in one month, I decided to use this principle to make $1,000. I set my target date for 2 weekends later – about 10 business days – to raise $1000. If I succeed, this would be the most money I made in 2 weeks. In fact, since my take-home pay was around $250 a week, making $1000 in two weeks is double my income. I was ecstatic.

MOVING TO BIGGER NUMBERS
Today, using the same “numbers game” principle, I make $75,000 a month. In fact, now that i am working with bigger goals and bigger numbers, the principle proves to be ever consistent and truer. As a result, I am able to live a whole lot better, be more helpful to family and friends, and allow me to be more creative about my own business. Although my life has not changed, I have changed the way I live it. I am more productive and more secure about myself.

WHAT I DID TO MAKE MONEY
Over the last eight years, I have developed several ideas for products and services that I can produce on my own and I can market easily. Furthermore, since I don’t want to sell other people’s products, I was looking for something that I can produce and market on my own.

What I finally stumbled upon are two products are quite easy and inexpensive to produce. These are simple products that you yourself can do, whatever your background and whichever part of the country you live in. These products are Discount Cards and Software Disks.
